Springhill Township will hold public meetings on Thursday, September 3, 2026, regarding a proposed amendment to the Township Zoning Ordinance establishing definitions, standards, and zoning requirements for data centers.
Meeting Location: Appalachian Community Center, 2390 Springhill Furnace Road, Smithfield, PA 15478
6:00 PM – Public Meeting: The Board of Supervisors will consider the proposed Data Center Zoning Ordinance and provide an opportunity for public comment.
7:00 PM – Special Meeting: The Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting to consider final approval of the proposed ordinance.
Residents and other interested persons are encouraged to attend and will have an opportunity to comment on the proposed ordinance.

PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors of Springhill Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, will consider for enactment at a public meeting to be held on the 3rd day of September 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the Appalachian Community Center, located at 2390 Springhill Furnace Road, Smithfield, PA 15478 Pennsylvania, proposed Ordinance No.2026-6 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF SPRINGHILL TOWNSHIP, FAYETTE COUNTY, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING SPRINGHILL TOWNSHIP ZONING ORDINANCE, TO PROVIDE DEFINITIONS AND STANDARDS RELATED TO DATA CENTERS, AND ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS AS TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF DIFFERENT ZONING AREAS.
A summary of the proposed ordinance is as follows: Section One of the Ordinance lists the title of said Ordinance. Section Two of the Ordinance lists the definitions of said Ordinance. Section Three of the Ordinance lists the Proposed Amendments to the Springhill Township Zoning Ordinance. Section Four of the Ordinance lists the Construction and Severability of said Ordinance. Section Five of the Ordinance contains a repealer clause concerning said Ordinance. Section Six of the Ordinance contains a ratification provision regarding said Ordinance. Section Seven of the Ordinance contains the effective date on which said Ordinance will become effective.
A copy of the full text of the proposed Ordinance may be examined without charge at the Springhill Township Municipal Building, located at 198 Lake Lynn Rd, Lake Lynn, PA 15451, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
It is further noted that the Springhill Township Supervisors shall hold a special meeting at 7:00 P.M. on September 3rd 2026, in order to consider final approval of said Ordinance.
All interested citizens and persons are invited to attend the public and special meetings and will have an opportunity to be heard regarding the proposed ordinance. The Springhill Township Supervisors reserve the right to limit individual public comment regarding said Ordinance.
